At the season-ending Cats Victoria show on 1 December, Eileen & Karel Pittaway's Abys Tawny female, Merindalee Jane Austen (CCCA Ch & Sapph Gr Ch Merindalee Fortune Teller X Ch Merindalee What Ever), was Best Gr 3 Female kitten (out of 20) in one ring (below left with Eileen). Eileen & Karel's Tawny male, CCCA Ch & Sapph Gr Ch Merindalee Harrison Ford (CCCA Gr Ch & Sapph Gr Ch Merindalee Fortune Teller and Merindalee Demi Moore), finished the season with an even bigger bang. He was Best Gr 3 Cat (out of 22) and Supreme Exhibit (out of 85) in each of the two rings; he is shown below right with judge Val Harney.
In Melbourne:-
Two Merindalee Abys stood out at the FCCV Christmas Show on 24 November. Among the kittens, Eileen & Karel Pittaway's Abys Tawny female, Merindalee Emily Bronte (CCCA Ch & Sapph Gr Ch Merindalee Fortune Teller X Ch Merindalee What Ever), was Best Gr 3 Female kitten (out of 11) in one ring and second in the other ring. She went on to be Best Gr 3 Exhibit (out of 51) in Ring 1, and is shown below left. Their Tawny male, CCCA Ch & Sapph Gr Ch Merindalee Harrison Ford (CCCA Gr Ch & Sapph Gr Ch Merindalee Fortune Teller and Merindalee Demi Moore), was Best Gr 3 Cat (out of 23) and Best Exhibit in Ring 2. He is shown below right.

George & Julie Kennedy's Tawny female, Abytawe Shirley Bassey (CCCA Ch & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Nile Argante X Ch Nile Holly Golightly), was Best Kitten in Show in the other two rings, and Best Exhibit in Show (out of 34) in one ring [Shirley, below].
Cats: The Shawns' Tawny female, Sil Dbl Gr Ch Osiris(V) Elizabeth Arden (Gr Ch Osiris(V) Baron Von Richthofen X CCCA Ch, Sil & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Osiris(V) Prada) was Best Cat in Show (out of 7) and Best Exhibit in Show in one ring [Lizzie, below]. Their Tawny male, Osiris(V) Sammy Davis Junior (Gr Ch Osiris(V) Baron Von Richthofen X Osiris(V) Ballroom Dancer), having turned 9 months old just the day before the show, was Best Cat in Show in the other two rings. He was Best Exhibit in Show in one ring and runner up in the other [Sammy, below].

Kay Cooper's Cinnamon neuter, Abytawe Dylan Thomas (CCCA Ch & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Nile Argante and Ch Nile Holly Golightly), was Best Gr 3 Desexed Kitten (out of 2) in two rings and went on to be Best Gr 3 Exhibit (out of 21) and Best All-Breed exhibit (out of 47) in one of the rings. He is shown below left with Kay. Her Tawny neuter, CCCA Gr Ch & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Nile Fortunati, (Swift Rock The Kasbah X CCCA Sapph Tpl Gr Ch & Diamond Dbl Gr Ch Nile Holly Ghost) was Best Gr 3 Neuter Cat (out of 10) and Best Gr 3 Desexed Cat (out of 19) in in all three rings, and in two of them, he went on to be Best Gr 3 Exhibit. There were just 9 Abys at the Hinterland show on 27 October, but no fewer than 6 of them made it to the top. Michael & Sue Shawn's Tawny male, Osiris(V) Sammy Davis Junior (Gr Ch Osiris(V) Baron Von Richthofen X Osiris(V) Ballroom Dancer) was Best Gr 3 Kitten (out of 30) in three of the four rings (below left). but he was a bit upstaged by their young Tawny female, Osiris(V) Cleopatra, (Gr Ch Osiris(V) Baron Von Richthofen X Ch Osiris(V) Judge Judy), who was Best Gr 3 Kitten in remaining ring and went on to be Best Gr 3 Exhibit (out of 73). She appears 2nd from left with Sue & judge Allan Davies.
Among the cats, Michael & Sue's Tawny American import, Highgaitpaws American Edition (Highgaitpaws Limited Edition and Devande's Chit Chat (Imp HOL)), was Best Gr 3 Cat (out of 33) in one ring (3rd from left). Shirley is a Tawny female bred by Kay Cooper from CCCA Ch & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Nile Argante and Nile Holly Golightly, and owned by George and Julie Kennedy. The Blue Pt Siamese show on 5 October had low and fragmented attendance; it was also poorly organised, in that male and female exhibits were done by different judges in all rings, and no allowance was made for conferring, so Best Kitten, Cat and Desexed Cat Awards were not made. The only higher awards adjudicated were Best Gr 3 Exhibit, and only one Aby or Somali made it to that.

he was Best Gr 3 Cat (out of 67) and Supreme Exhibit

In Brisbane:-
Ed made his début at the QICC & FCCQ joint show on 15 September. More formally Highgaitpaws American Edition (Imp USA), this Tawny male was bred by Mindy M. Condon in New York State from Highgaitpaws Limited Edition and Devande's Chit Chat (Imp HOL);he is owned Michael and Sue Shawn. Especially considering that Ed had only recently emerged from a month in Sydney quarantine, he handled it all very well, and even managed a Best Gr 3 Cat (out of 17) in one ring, and 3rd in two other rings. He appears below left with Michael and judge Penny Bydlinski. The Shawns' Tawny male Osiris(V) Sammy Davis Junior (Gr Ch Osiris(V) Baron Von Richthofen X Osiris(V) Ballroom Dancer), continued his excellent performance and was Best Gr 3 Kitten (out of 19) two rings and also Best Gr 3 Exhibit (out of 46) in one of them. George & Julie Kennedy's Tawny female CCCA Tpl Gr Ch & Dia Dbl Gr Ch Nile Holly Ghost (Nat Show Ch, CCCA Tpl Gr Ch & Dia Dbl Gr Ch Nile Phantom of Hope and Dbl Gr Ch Osiris(V) Sioux City Sue) was Best Gr 3 Female Cat (out of 10) in two rings and second in the 3rd ring. In the desexed section, Lynne Moorman's Tawny Somali neuter, {Many Titles} Joylincar Sun God Amun Ra (Kisompa's Calogero (Imp FIN) X Joylincar Koala Blue) was Best OFSH Desexed Cat (out of 14) in one ring. He even gained one more title, becoming a CCCA Dbl Gr Ch on the day, and is shown below centre. At the Royal Easter Show Cat and Kitten Carnival on 23 March, Sue Hatcher's Blue female, Tijah Royal Colours, was Best Shorthair Cat (out of 20) in one ring. Royal Colours, from (US) Gr Ch Purssynian Speedball Tucker (Imp USA) & Ch Tijah Lilah, is shown below left. In the other ring, Sue's Tawny male, Tijah Raising The Bar [(US) Gr Ch Purssynian Speedball Tucker (Imp USA) & Ch Tijah Vanikoro] was Best Gr 3 Kitten (out of 34) and Supreme Exhibit (out of 155). He is shown below right.
In Melbourne:-
Abys were few but did well at the Sunshine Cat Club show on 17 March. Eileen & Karel Pittaway's Tawny female, Merindalee Morticia, was Best Gr 3 Kitten (out of 22) in Both rings, while their Tawny male, Gr Ch Merindalee Harrison Ford, was Best Gr 3 Cat (out of 16) in one ring, and went on to be Best Gr 3 Exhibit (out of 51) in that ring. Morticia is show below left with Eileen and Harrison below right with Karel.
In Goulburn, NSW:-
At the first NSW championship show of 2013, in Goulburn on 9 March, some 2¼ hours out of Sydney, George & Julie Kennedy's Tawny female CCCA Dbl Gr Ch & Dia Dbl Gr Ch Nile Holly Ghost was Best Shorthair Cat (out of 13) in two of the three rings of the Goulburn Ag Soc Show, and went on to be Best Gr 3 Exhibit (out of 59) in both those rings. She comes from a mating of of Nat Show Ch, CCCA Tpl Gr Ch & Dia Dbl Gr Ch Nile Phantom of Hope and Dbl Gr Ch Osiris(V) Sioux City Sue, and is shown below.

At the (GCCFV) City of Kingston Pet Expo on 2 March,
Kaylie Goodrick's Tawny female, Narleekatz Cutie Kai, was Best Gr 3
Cat (out of 7) in one ring, and went on to be Best Gr 3 Exhibit (out of
22). She come from a mating of Dbl Gr Ch Highgaitpaws Have A Chat (Imp USA) and
China Blue of Wonderlove (Imp GER); she is shown below with judge Greg Little.
In Brisbane:-
At the Lockyer Valley Cat Club on 24 February,
Michael and Sue Shawn's Tawny female, Osiris(V) Special Witness, from Gr Ch
Osiris(V) Baron Von Richthofen X Osiris(V) Special Witness was Best SH Kitten
(out of 32) in one of the three rings. She is shown below left.
At the same show, the Shawns' Tawny neuter. (Many Titles) Osiris(V) Fast Talker,
was Best SH Desexed Cat (out of 10) in two of the three rings, and went on to be
Supreme SH Exhibit (out of 57). He had previously been Best SH Desexed Cat (out
of 8) in one of the three rings at the Gold Coast show, and again in all three
rings (out of 9) at the QICC Council show. He is shown below right with
Sue.
In Brisbane:-
Michael and Sue Shawn's Tawny girl, Osiris(V) Elizabeth Arden (Gr Ch Osiris(V) Baron Von Richthofen X Sil Gr Ch Osiris(V) Prada) started the year brightly with a Best SH Kitten (out of 20) in one ring at the QICC Council show on 3 February, with runner-up awards in the other two rings. She appears below with Sue. She followed this up with a Best SH kitten win at the Gold Coast show on 9 February, in one of the three rings (out of 45).

At the Pedigreed Persian kitten show on 24 February, Eileen & Karel Pittaway's Tawny female, Merindalee Morticia, was Best Gr 3 Kitten (out of 26) in one ring and runner-up in the other. Morticia (Gr Ch Merindalee Dumbledore X Ch Merindalee Whatever) is shown below with judge Dr Kerry Fowler.
In Canberra:-
George & Julie Kennedy's CCCA Gr Ch & Dia Dbl Gr Ch Nile Holly Ghost was Best Shorthair Cat (out of 12) in one of the three rings of the Royal Canberra Show on 23 February. This Tawny female is a daughter of Nat Show Ch, CCCA Tpl Gr Ch & Dia Dbl Gr Ch Nile Phantom of Hope and Dbl Gr Ch Osiris(V) Sioux City Sue, and is shown below. She progressed to CCCA Dbl Gr Ch with the win.
In Adelaide:-
Two cats brought their good form from 2012 to the FASA Summer show on 17 February. One was Evelyn & Rita Bruche's Tawny male, Ch Merindalee King For A Day, bred by Eileen & Karel Pittaway from CCCA Gr Ch & Sapph Gr Ch Merindalee Fortune Teller & Cenglow Elle Macpherson; He was Best Gr 3 Cat (out of 19) in one of the two rings. The other was CCCA Gr Ch & Regal DGPR Vivace El Tigre De Oro, Tawny Somali Neuter owned by Lori Fergusson and bred by Evelyn and Rita from Gold Dbl Gr Ch Vivace Virtuoso and Ikati Big Spender: He was Best Gr 3 Desexed Cat (out of 17) in one ring. Kingsley is show below left and Salvador below right, each with judge Kathryn Hill.
In Sydney:-
At the first NSW show of the season, The Federal Kitten show on 3 February, Sue Hatcher's Tawny female, Tijah Bardot, did very well. This daughter of (US) Gr Ch Purssynian Speedball Tucker and Ch Tijah Vanikoro was Best Gr 3 Kitten (out of 53) in one of the three rings. She appears below left. Wendy Newton and Ben White's recent arrival from Gail Warwick's cattery in Christchurch, the Cinnamon male Kemenkat Razzmatazz (Rackarkatten's Red Xavier (Imp SWD) X Kemenkat Rox My Sox) actually went one better. Razz was Best Gr 3 Kitten in the remaining two rings, and went on to be Supreme Kitten in Show (out of 87). He appears below right.
In Brisbane:-
At the season-starting QFA council show on 27 January, Jeanette Cook's Tawny male, Cairocats Cruze was Best SH kitten in one of the three rings (out of 40). A son of Tijah Ricardo and Asmara Azure Blue Baby, he is shown below.
In Klagenfurt:-
For those of you who can't quite place it, it's in Austria where, on the weekend of 26/27 January, there was a show, attended by Anna Sydorenko's Tawny male, Tijah Sovereign Wings. She hails from the Ukraine, while he is from Sue Hatcher's cattery near Sydney, and comes from a mating of (US) Gr Ch Purssynian Speedball Tucker (Imp USA) and Tijah Windermere. Wings got a number of top placings at the show, and became a CFA Gr Ch as a result. He is shown below with his owner (left) and CFA judge Betty White (right).
